What is chemical peel?

In this out-patient chemical peel procedure, a chemical solution is applied to the skin, which is eventually peeled off. The chemical solution applied to the skin contains glycolic acid, trichloroacetic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid or carbolic acid.

Post- treatment care

After a chemical peel procedure, you may need to cover the treated skin with a bandage as you will be asked to avoid the sun for several months. Apply the lotion or cream provided by the dermatologist.

The treated skin will be red, tight and swollen, therefore avoid sun exposure, certain cosmetic products and hair removal on face for some time.
