PRP For Hair
What is PRP therapy?
Platelet Rich Plasma therapy for hair is a natural process to instigate hair growth on the scalp and the hairline.
The procedure is a 3-step therapy in which the patient’s blood is drawn, then processed and finally injected back into his/her scalp for promoting hair growth. Because PRP treatment for hair loss involves injecting your own blood back into the scalp, you get prone to no risks of getting infected by a communicable disease.
Your blood is drawn and put into a centrifuge. In most cases the blood is drawn from your arms.
After about 10 minutes in the centrifuge, the blood gets separated into 3 layers:
- platelet poor plasma
- platelet rich plasma
- red blood cells
The platelet rich plasma is drawn in a syringe and injected into the areas of the scalp where hair growth is expected.
